Zurich is a must visit European city for vegans.
There are so many top vegan restaurants there. It is astounding. What’s funny is that we had no idea! We went to visit friends and then discovered all these amazing vegan places.
We met our friends a the Michelin star vegan restaurant Marktkuche.
It was a perfect evening. Great friends, great food and great conversation. International friendships are really special. Being from different cultures and places makes the conversations so rich. A dinner with friends like this brings countless opportunities to reflect on the world and one’s own experiences. It is impossible to express the joy and benefits of blending different points of view together. Actually, maybe food is the perfect metaphor. In a dish, salt and acid can combine in a special way to elevate all the ingredients so we can experience them in a new way. As another example, wine captures a moment, a place and a culture in a bottle for us to enjoy, reflect on and discuss. This blog is about sharing relationships over food. It’s about inviting love between each other and for ourselves into our lives by sitting with one another, eating. This meal was two couples eating together but it was so much more. It was love, joy and a new point of view.
It was also delicious! Maketkoish’s menu is a surprise so we wont give too many details just photos, lol. They allow you to choose how many courses you’d like, which is fantastic. We did five courses and did not do the wine paring, but rather ordered an excellent bottle of Riesling. This really fit our pace for this evening perfectly.
Marktkuche elevated our experience. Tucked into the environment they created we shared our differences, celebrated our commonalities and left better than we came. It’s an impossible expectation for a dinner, but I promise it was real.
