It’s no secret, Vegan restaurants are rare in Italy. When you do find them they often have the most interesting backstories.
Le Golose Imperfezioni has an incredible point of view and philosophy behind it. They are dedicated to the ancient grains of Italy. They grow, produce and then cook with these fascinating grains. It is a project way bigger than a restaurant. You can learn about it on their website and when you are in Como you must visit.
The food is very unique and delicious. Do not expect a Napoli style pizza or a vegan version of it, but rather something completely original.
We went for lunch and have not stopped talking about since. We had the pizza rossa which was made with an ancient red grain. It was topped with zucchini and pickled cabbage. It was amazing. For dessert we had an almond cake. It was soft and smooth with a lovely flavor. There was no sugar, but plenty of sweetness.
We are not experts on their cuisine but thankfully one does not need to understand everything to enjoy it. Absolutely one of the most interesting restaurants we have visited.
