Faubourg Daimant is on every list as the best vegan restaurant in Paris and it is magnificent.
We went to Faubourg Daimant before seeing a show. Which was fine, but if you go make Faubourg Daimant the main event of your night.
Why? Well, the menu, the drinks, and ambience here are made to be savored, not rushed. We think this is generally true of Paris. On our latest trip, everywhere we ate, the experience was extremely romantic and felt centered on relationships. Almost as if eating is more about the connection between people. And this is certainly true for Faubourg Daimant - which seems designed for vegan date nights. It was amazing to look around and see people actually taking each other in. So beautiful. We’re not downplaying the food, but the work here is not simply satisfying one’s stomach but to inspire conversation, laughter, and maybe even love.
It's such a break from our New York City culture where experiences mostly lean into - all business. Not complaining, we love the flow and rhythm of New York, there’s nothing like it in the world, but there is something about Paris that got us wanting more of each other in the moments we have together. Maybe that's why they call it the city of love.
No small feat for a city or a restaurant. To spread love and joy. To inspire us to be closer and more intimate with one another.
No small feat, but that's what we got at Faubourg Daimant. Now, what we ordered was also amazing... We had the Onion Rings, Indulgent Croquettes, Flatbread, The Carrot Corn Dog, Potato Mousseline and Ultimate Gravy, Oyster Mushrooms, Raviolo, The Risotto, and for dessert Faubourg’s Snicker and Popcorn French Toast. Small plates perfect for sharing. Each one amazing.
We could have spent the whole night at Faubourg Daimant enjoying each other and the food. Next trip we’re fully adopting the Parisian lifestyle of light and love - leaving our New York hustle at home.
